The Wythe County Cannery has served generations of local families, farmers, and students, preserving everything from summer vegetables to cherished apple butter recipes. The Cannery’s boiler has failed beyond repair, and canning operations are paused until a replacement can be installed.
While canning services are temporarily unavailable, the Cannery remains open for meat processing, and county and school officials are already working together to secure funding for a new boiler and other long-term improvements.
