NOTICE – PUBLIC HEARING

In compliance with §22.1 – 92 of the Code of Virginia, the Wythe County School Board will conduct a public hearing to provide interested persons an opportunity for input into the formulation of the 2027 Fiscal Year budget.

A public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Wythe County School Board Office, 1570 West Reservoir Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382.

Wythe County Cannery Temporarily Paused

10/10/2025

The Wythe County Cannery has served generations of local families, farmers, and students, preserving everything from summer vegetables to cherished apple butter recipes. The Cannery’s boiler has failed beyond repair, and canning operations are paused until a replacement can be installed. While canning services are temporarily unavailable, the Cannery remains open for meat processing, and county and school officials are already working together to secure funding for a new boiler and other long-term improvements.
