Invitation to Bid
Wythe County Public Schools is requesting proposals for the behind-the-wheel portion of the driver education program. The Wythe County Public
Schools plan to award one contract to one offeror who meets the criteria.
The Wythe County Public Schools operates three high schools: Fort
Chiswell High School, George Wythe High School, and Rural Retreat High
School. The classroom portion of the course will be taught by Wythe
County School’s personnel. The estimated number of students eligible for
learner's permits is approximately 300 per year. Students must have their
learner's permit on the first day of the behind-the-wheel instruction. Once
under contract, the offeror will be asked to perform behind-the-wheel driver
training for all eligible Wythe County Public School students, including
students that are provided protection under the Americans with Disabilities
Act and could require driving equipment modifications. It is the Wythe
County Public School’s intent is to contract with a qualified group or
association for the organization, implementation, and operation of the behind-the-wheel portion of the driver education program. Should the contracted
offeror be unable to provide all requested services, the Wythe County Public
Schools reserves the right, at all times, to award contracts to other offerors.
